TSOLast weekend my family and I went to see TSO to start the holidays out right. Last year my husband and I were invited to go with his parents a week or two before Christmas. We enjoyed ourselves so much that I wanted to share it with my parents. The concerts are filled with Christmas rock music set to flames and a laser show. No matter where you sit in the audience you can feel the oppressive heat of the flames, and sometimes the crazy laser show is overwhelming on the eyes. I first learned about TSO when my husband showed me a video on YouTube of a crazy person who rigged their christmas lights to play to the one of the TSO songs. Here is a link to an old one on YouTube. I would recommend this show to everyone.

Maroon 5

maroon-5My sister an I went to the Marron 5 concert in September at Concord Pavillion. Maroon 5 was playing with another band we both recognized called Counting Crows. We decide to meet at 5 in the Elephant Bar for dinner and drinks before the concert. I had the day off and forgot it was Friday, so was a little late becuase of commute traffic. Amazingly enough I was only an half an hour late.

We both enjoyed our dinners, and had fancy drinks to go with them. We left a little after six, leaving my car so we could drive together. The opening band was okay and County Crows was even better, but it still sucked that Maroon 5 was last. We had both brought blankets, jackets, and dressed in pants, but it was still really cold. Rindy and I knew almost every song because we downloaded their music months before the concert to make sure we recognized the new songs. They played a lot of good songs, but not my favorite, Breath. I feel like I got ripped off listening to them in the cold waiting for my song. I would have left at ten if I knew they weren’t going to play my song. They were good, it was just really cold, making it hard to enjoy. Rindy and I played Breath really loud in the car on they way to dropping me off at the Elephant Bar.

Chris Isaak Concert

This was the first time I ever rode in a limo. In my opinion, it was the best part of the entire concert! We all brought a little something to snack on. We had crackers, wine, and some fruit. We drank, ate, and talked the whole way. Once we got there we chilled in the limo while we waited for the gates to open. The concert was better than I thought. Chris actually played several songs I knew. The couple of songs that I didn’t know I enjoyed; they were very upbeat. Chris was funnier than Michael Buble. He also came in the crowd like Michael. We had to shove Gina up to get some Chris love. He gave her a hug, and her heart didn’t stop beating out of her chest for over half the concert. We headed out early to miss the traffic. We had the best time.

Michael Buble

Once upon a time (beginning of Febuary), I was surfing the web for tickets to events that might be good gift ideas. I wasn’t having much success when I stumbled upon dates for the Michael Buble concert at HP Pavillion. I thought it might make a good Foxy Lady Day event, but Rindy was the only one interested. We decided to get the tickets for her birthday, and make it a sister event.

Michael Buble is a Grammy winning big band singer and acter. Listening to his music you can feel the strong influence of jazz. His style is modeled off of Frank Sinatra. Both Rindy and I enjoyed the concert. keep reading “Michael Buble”
